The original EINSTAR is relevant when budget and broad handheld capture matter. The official page lists a 160-1400 mm depth of field, up to 14 fps and a 500 g body. It also specifies substantial computer requirements. Test the scanner together with the workstation because tracking and processing performance depend on the complete system.

Mixed small and medium parts

EINSTAR 2 and Rockit add laser-oriented modes alongside infrared capture. They merit a trial when the workload mixes detailed mechanical parts with broader surfaces. Ask which mode produces the required feature detail and whether markers or surface treatment are needed.

All-in-one field capture

Software and computer requirements

The original EINSTAR page specifies Windows and Apple Silicon configurations and lists export formats including OBJ, STL, PLY, P3 and 3MF. Requirements can differ by product and software version. Confirm the exact matrix for the selected model, including GPU, RAM, operating system, connection, storage and license.

Opening an export is not enough. Run the normal downstream step in CAD, inspection, printing or visualization software. Check units, scale, normals, holes and mesh density. If the job needs parametric CAD, price reconstruction separately.

Price and availability policy
